Hunters reporting online protected by Queue-it

In connection with the annual reporting of game bag, the Danish Nature Agency used Queue-it to prevent its website and back-end system from crashing. In Denmark, all hunting license holders must report their annual game bag. It is possible for the hunters to report online on www.jagttegn.dk and most hunters do this in March, when their hunting licenses are about to expire. The back-end system setup has historically experienced some difficulty related to handling the additional transaction load, which occurs when the hunters access the website to report the game bag – resulting in delayed response times and/or website crashes. Using Queue-it, the hunters are now served in the order they entered the website, and they are continuously updated on their queue-status, i.e. place in line and expected time to be served. As a result, the site did not crash or experience response time problems during the peak, and the number of unsatisfied hunters contacting the hunting license administration office was reduced. The IT operations group was also able to focus its effort and manpower on other issues, as they did not have to dedicate full time staff to handling the traditional transaction peak problems.

The Nature Agency estimates that they have saved 3-400 emails and phone calls from hunters during the reporting peak after implementing Queue-it.
