World class website performance for a World Championship

The Municipality of Rudersdal used Queue-it’s services during the UCI Road World Championships, which the Municipality hosted in 2011.

“Our website and some of our online self service solutions are expected to be under heavy user load pressure during the UCI Road World Championships, which we are hosting. Queue-it conducted thorough load testing of our website and implemented the virtual queue system throughout our envioronment based on the load test results and our expectations related to which sections and services are most likely be under pressure during the championships” says Mette Dyrby Kloch, Communication Manager in Rudersdal. “We had an opportunity to try Queue-it on a smaller scale when we opened up online applications for citizen parking permits before the championship. The citizens of our Municipality were assigned parking permits on a first-come-first-serve basis, and the queue reduced the number of simultaneous users on the application system to match the capacity by holding excess users in line. While the users were waiting, we were able to communicate messages directly to them, on the individual queue number, and provide updates and tips on how to apply.”
